Veneers at Penrose Dental
Dental veneers in Auckland
Veneers cover the front of a tooth to change its appearance. We offer porcelain and composite options for concerns such as chips, stains and small gaps.

Your care
Are veneers right for your teeth?
Veneers can change the colour and shape of teeth, cover chips and mask small gaps. Your teeth and gums need to be healthy before treatment.
We’ll check your bite and talk about what you’d like to change. We’ll also explain whether a simpler option, such as whitening, could meet your needs.
Veneers may involve removing enamel. That change is permanent, so we’ll explain the preparation and alternatives before you decide.
Porcelain or composite?
Porcelain veneers
Custom-made shells bonded to your teeth. Porcelain resists staining well and usually costs more than composite.
Composite veneers
Tooth-coloured resin shaped directly onto the tooth. Often a lower-cost option, but more prone to staining and wear.

A more even shape and colour. This patient came to Penrose Dental with worn teeth and staining around old fillings. Following a hygiene visit, they received CEREC veneers. The photos show more even edges and a more consistent colour across the upper front teeth.
Looking after the result. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth daily and keep up regular dental check-ups. Avoid biting hard objects and tell your dentist if you clench or grind your teeth. Veneers can still chip or wear, and the teeth around them still need protection from decay.

How veneer treatment works
Check your teeth
We check your teeth, gums and bite, then discuss the changes you have in mind.
Choose your veneers
We agree on the material, shape and shade, and explain preparation, appointments and cost.
Fit your veneers
Composite is shaped on the tooth; porcelain is made to fit. We check the finish and bite, then explain ongoing care.
Will veneers look natural?
We’ll discuss the colour, shape and size with you before treatment. The aim is a result that works with your smile and surrounding teeth.
How long do veneers last?
Veneers can chip, wear or loosen and may eventually need repair or replacement. Their lifespan depends on the material, your bite and how you care for them.
How do I look after them?
Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth daily and keep up your dental check-ups. Avoid biting hard objects, and tell your dentist if you grind your teeth.
Are veneers the only option?
No. Depending on what you want to change, whitening, bonding or orthodontic treatment may be worth considering. Your dentist will explain the options for your teeth.
